Visions of sugarplums!!

Hi Friends! Welcome to Day 1 of the Annual "Visions of Sugarplums" Blog Hop!
For the last few years the talented Lori Hairston of Chouxchoux Paper Art
has been hosting a super fun blog hop with several other bloggers showcasing anything from Holiday Recipes to Greeting Cards and more for the Christmas holiday, with LOADS of prizes to win.

Here is my project for Day 1! I just love to make smowmen and I thought these guys would be a fun decoration! I found some vintage molds on Etsy and they were 14.00 for 7 of them.
You will need smooth styrofoam balls, paint for the eyes and mouth, and clay for the nose! They are easy and fun to make!! Once they were done I sprayed glue all over the snowmen and used some rock glitter !

Thinking of you

Hi! I hope you girls in the states had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It seems like this time of year all the holidays go so fast! I have so many Christmas cards to make and never enough time! I'm excited about Visions of Sugarplums coming soon! I will have a giveaway on my blog! Be sure to check back !

My friend lost her mom a few days ago, so I made her this card. It's so hard to lose a parent, and around the holidays it's even harder I think.

I embossed the background and water colored it . The butterfly is from Penny Black and theres three different ones, there all so cute! I did the same thing, embossed in green and water colored the rest.

I hope you girls have a wonderful day! Hugs, Char

Merry Christmas from all of us

Hi and Happy Wednesday!

This set is from MFT! Simple card, just some water coloring and I applied paste to the starry stencil. That's it!

I can't believe that Thanksgiving is next week! How did that happen? I've got all my Christmas shopping done and the tree up. I needed the warmth of the holidays early this year. I still need to wrap presents, but that's ok, I feel good about getting it done early so I can just enjoy.

I hope you have a wonderful day! Hugs, Char

Happy Halloween

Hi Friends!

Have a  great Halloween! Hugs, Char

Be Merry

Hi Friends! I hope your having a great week! here in Northern California we have had a drought, so I'm happy that we have had above average rain! A great start to help with the drought! I must say I'm not a huge fan of rain, I love the cooler temps though!

I've always loved the images from Pretty Little Studio, but have gotten away from the style I used to do when I first started making cards back in 2008. I pretty much bought paper, etc...and layered my cards, now I'm more into stamping, but this style still pulls at me, so I've decided that I really don't have a style, I just make what I like, Right? I decided this year to add these cute images to my stash!
The BG paper is also from Pretty Little Studio, the frame is Pretty Pink Posh, and the be Merry is a new set from W Plus 9. Oh, and the snowflakes are Simon Says :-)

Happy Thursday! Hugs, Char

Merry Christmas

Hi! Just a quick post today :-).

I started this card with Simon Says snowflakes and die cut a background of them. Next I water colored the base and layered the snowflakes on top. The dog and tree are water colored too. A fun and easy card! The dog is from the set called Dexter Christmas, I believe it was last years stamp.

Hugs, Char

PTI Blog Hop

Hi Friends! I had some time to play along this month in Paperytrey's Blog Hop :-) Everything on this  card is PTI except the sequins.
Blog-hop-logo

I started by watercoloring the background with yellow and orange colors. After dryed, I splatered some gold and brown. The text is Background Basics, textile 2. it's in the vault now . The Sunflower is called Botanical Blocks. The scalloped card die is also PTI , but i was having trouble finding the name. Anyone know?

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!!! Hugs, Char

When Witches go riding

Hi! I hope all of you are having a wonderful week! Just a quick post today sharing a Halloween card. I haven't made to many of them and I love Halloween. This cat from Riley and Company cracks me up!

I ink blended some tumbled glass and blueprint sketch together and sprinkled water. The moon was masked off to do the blending. The cat is water colored and that's it!

Have a happy day! Hugs, Char

When things get scary, I'll be with you

Hi Bloggy friends! I hope all is well  with you! Weve had a horrible storm with lots of needed rain! It's funny how one day its hot and the next mothers nature turns the handle :-) I hope the wind dosent knock off the leaves before we get fall this year!

So here I am making a fall card with MFT 's Fall Friends. I thought this little scarecrow was cute! The whole card is water colored , and that's it!

Court Update........Postponed again :-(

have a great week! Hugs, Char

Wishing you a cozy holiday

Hi Friends ! I am getting excited that Fall is here! Fall is my favorite time of the year! I'm afraid that I haven't been very crafty lately. I have 0 mojo, so I at least color or something in my room everyday, even if its organizing. Maybe the mojo will knock me beside the head if I hang out in there :-)

So this if a card that I came up with. The wonderful coffee cup is from Hero Arts. I used a stamp pad from Michaels and its their brand (Recolection) Ombre Ink Pads, now mind you , I don't need anymore inks, but it was a great price and I wanted to compare, I am very impressed with this ink pad! Look at how vibrant the colors are!

I'm entering this card into Hero Arts Card making Challenge !!

Merry Christmas

Hi Friends :-) I hope you had a nice weekend! I watched Kinley  from Thursday night till Sunday night. My poor baby started getting sick Saturday Night :-(. I so LOVE her, she is my salvation and she keeps me grounded :-)

Update: On the court side I'm afraid there going to seek the death penalty, but waiting for the November voting, and if the death penalty is banished it will be life in prison without the possibly of parole :-( This is my life right now, and there's so much more. Please keep John and myself in your prayers.

Merry Christmas

Hi Friends! Well its officially my favorite time of the year....FALL! I think today is suppose to be the last day in the 90'S and HELLO 70'S!!! Destiny and I are attempting having a garage sale on Saturday. I use to be able to park my car in the garage, but with all of my son's stuff in there, I can't.... it will be very hard to sell all of his things :-( , but I can keep what's special and I've had a year to wrap my head around it. the 1st time we tried I was balling my head off :-( We will see how it goes.

Regarding the girls, it was postponed again :-(....I don't even have words for that issue :-( Again, court on Oct 17th.

Ok on to why you came :-). I blended the background with distress inks. The trees are new from Tim Holtz, They are only a few inchs tall, so I partial die cut them to make them taller. I used Simon Says snow dies, and last but not least the sweet deer are from Kitsch Christmas Stamp....I think, no , I KNOW these are the cutest deer ever!

Thank You friends, for your continued support, it means the world. I started to write all my sorrows down, but erased them, you don't need to hear me wining and  crying :-) Hugs, Char

Mr & Mrs

Hi Friends! Just a quick card from Concord And 9th. Really simple water coloring with water spritzing. I love how the cake has built in flowers :-) The set is called Happy Day

Happy Happy Happy Halloween

Hi ! I'm back again with an adorable stamp set that Kay Miller designed! Its the cutest stamp set for Halloween ever! I hope Kay continues to design ....hint,hint  Kay? :-)

I used the new frame from My Favorite Things called Stitched Cover Up frame, I have the vertical and horizontal one. The background is blended with Tumbled Glass and Blueprint distress Inks, then spritzed with water. The coloring of everyone was done with Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush Watercolour pens .

The wealther here this week is awesome!!! 90 today and in the 80's the last few days. Will get back up to 99 over the weekend, but I see signs of fall and I LOVE IT!!!

Hugs, Char

Merry Christmas

Hi Friends!

For some reason I'm in the mood to make Christmas cards early because every year I scramble to get them done. You can never have to many, right?

I just love this new die from Simon Says, its so fun and you can do a lot with it....it would be beautiful for a fall card, I was thinking as I typed this :-) The deer from Hero Arts and is another stamp set that I love. They have some spectacular layering stamps that look so realistic! I thought this needed some sequins after I took a picture of it :-)

I have to show you Miss Kinley's hair, she has the most beautiful natural curls and highlight's I've seen! I want her hair! She has been such a saving grace for me. I have her every weekend and she is a love, and loves to cuddle! Thank God for Kinley

Kinley with her new Princess Sophia doll (as she call her "Phia:)

And me niece had her baby! His name is William and he's so precious! His tiny PJ'S are so big for him :-) I'm sure he will grow into them fast!

I hope all is well with all of you? I just finished another round of court and just don't have it in me to blog much, but I will when I can :-) On the girls front we go back to court on the 26th and I think there will be better news :-) Thank You girls for all the support, your all so wonderful!
Hugs, Char

I'm bats about you

Hi Friends~! I hope all is well with you! I'm hanging in there :-). I had court yesterday and court next week. Johns stuff is scheduled for January and if there's no plea bargain by February then it will go to trail in Mar...Mar 8th. Thanks for all the encouragement and prayers

This is an old stamp from MFT, last year I think. They had a clearance on it and I thought it was so cute! The background bats are from Tim Holtz, and the background is ink blended and then spritzed with water. I copic colored the witch and cat.

Have a great day! Hugs, Char

I'd slay a dragon for you

Hi bloggy friends! Just popping in for a quick post. I've been busy slaying dragons in my own life :-) so I've been busy, but trying to still stay in the loop and visiting you girls when I can. I so enjoy seeing your beautiful cards! I hope all if well with each and every one of you!

This little card was made with the new My Favorite things Magical Dragons. Birdie Brown makes the cutest images in her stamp designs! And the frame is their new Cover Up Vertical .

That's it for me :-) have a great day! Hugs, Char

Proud of your strength

Hi! A little Altenew to start off the day! This is their new set called
Bamboo Rose  . I started by stamping the cardstock with Versamark. Then I cut the front watercolored piece with the Wonky Stitched rectangle. I white embossed the flowers and colored them in with my Zigs. Splattered some gold and pink watercolor. That's it!

Have a great day! Hugs, Char

I'm Nuts About You

Hi Friends! Sorry I've been missing . The court stuff went better and I will share soon. I just want to say Thank You for all the continued prayers, you girls are the best!

I haven't been making to many cards either, but had some time to play with this new guy. He's from  Sugar Pea Designs , Nuts about you. The background is from Memory Box "Falling Maple" stencil. I taped it to my background and blended Distress Inks to get the variation in colors. Maybe its the 110 degree weather, but I long for fall! I can't believe that we have had so many days over 100. It's going to be a scorcher of a summer!

Hugs, Char

You are so very amazing

Hi Bloggy Friends! Are you having a wonderful week? Mines going very fast! I miss those 68 degree days at the coast! It's back in the 100's here where you can fry that egg on the sidewalk :-)

I had a hard time getting a good picture of this card. I really need photography classes! maybe this fall would be a good time.

Update: I have court on July 18th. This time it's a trial. Please pray for a good outcome and that I am able to see the girls :-) My heart breaks everyday that there away from me.

My rule of life: #1 "If you want something you never had, you have to do something you've never done.":
(I need to remember this)
Thanks for all your prayers, hugs, support, and those beautiful  cards....you girls are the best!

Hugs, Char

You're fabulous!

Hi Friends! I'm back from the ocean :-(....Destiny and Kinley came for a few days and we spent hours on the beach, looking for seashells and tide pools! We found both! It was so fun! I REALLY needed this time to de-stress and re-energize!  I  usually cry when I have to come home. I love the cool weather and the beauty!

I started out with a stencil of palm trees. Taped the stencil down onto watercolor paper and colored them in. Sewed on some vellum over the top to soften, added the awesome flamingo from hero Arts and that's it!

Here's a few coast pics :-)

This is Destiny, Kinley's and my feet inside the heart.

Kinley decided she wanted to lay down!

Larry put up the flag on the 4th, it looked so pretty against the beach!

I love the color of the water that day, looked turquoise!

I hope you had a wonderful 4th! Hugs, Char
